Almost all XOPs that ship with Igor have both 32-bit and 64-bit versions (see Activating More Extensions for details). The primary reason to use the 32-bit application is if you need to use Igor extensions (XOPs) that are 32-bit extensions. We recommend that you use the 64-bit application (Igor64.app) if possible.
